Petersham Nurseries Richmond - Review and Photos
I live close to Petersham Nurseries near Richmond. If you are looking for an inspiring floral treasure trove to spend some time with a friend or two, this is for you.
Inspired by Nature Heaven
Anyone who is inspired by nature in their work and life are tickled as pink as the flowers here.
The place is in bloom (all year round) a burst of petals and colour everywhere you look - like a sweet shop for the nature loving eyes. Floral scents fill your lungs, everywhere you go something else catches your attention
Effortlessly elegant, although looking at the number of staff wandering around watering dusting, stocking up, sweeping. There is a great deal of effort involved.
Photos of Petersham Nurseries, Richmond
I visit here regularly. The flowers for sale and in the displays change throughout the seasons. This is post to entice you in, or to show you a few pretty corners if it’s too far for you to travel to. I’ve shared a few photos from my last visit here this summer. A replenishing meet up with some of my instagram flower loving pals for coffee cake, catch up, and complaints about what on earth is happening to Instagram.

We had coffee and cake in the rustic but ever so elegant teahouse, with vintage and aged furniture and blooms on every table. You can also tuck into a simple, lunch with a cool elderflower. Or, splash out in the Cafe which has been awarded a green Michelin Star for two years in a row.
There are also three shops; gifts for every budget, £5-£5000; plants of course in the nursery, including an array of garden flowers, pretty hydrangea, lilies and ferns, and houseplants and succulents that make your eyes pop. They don’t sell handmade jewellery (I gently tried to persuade them) but it’s a great place to find gifts for the home.
When I go I sometimes sneak in a few handmade jewellery pieces to take some lifestyle shots. Can you blame me, with those backdrops? I still need to practice!
Getting to Petersham Nurseries
When I go from Twickenham I usually drive - there is lots of parking though we often have to find a space on the local streets. It is a long way from Richmond Station so you might want to hop in an Uber from there. From Twickenham, if you have the time I recommend taking Hammerton’s Ferry from Marble Hill which delivers you outside Ham House - it is another ten minutes walk from there. It is a well loved Twickenham family business and only costs £1. You can find out more including whats on, and how to get to Petersham Nurseries in Richmond here.
