Customer Stories… Vaani from Sugar Plum Bakes
I am fortunate to be able to make jewellery for a living and I am so grateful for every order I receive. It is such an honour to make things that can be so special to someone whilst allowing me to live a creative life. I wanted to understand more about the people who order these nature inspired jewellery pieces and find out more about why they chose them, for themselves or loved ones so I asked them to tell me more about them, starting here with Vaani from Sugar Plum Bakes.

Sugar Plum Bakes
Vaani is a cake designer and baker. She makes exquisite cakes for events such as weddings - I am lucky enough to have tasted some and asked her to make one for my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2019 which went down extremely well! I asked Vaani why she became interested in my jewellery and what drew her to some particular pieces.
“My name is Vaani and I live in Kingston upon Thames and have known Kate for a while now. I discovered her on Instagram and fell in love with her creations before we became friends. I've bought many pieces from Kate because I too have a love of nature. Wearing jewellery that reminds me of it always keeps that connection that means so much to me. Nature fuels my creativity but also keeps me grounded. I do cherish my hydrangea pendant but my favourite piece altogether is my fern ring.
“I wear it most of the time! It reminds me of so many things, but I have an extra love for it, mainly because it makes me think of my husband's homeland: New Zealand (famous for its ferns) but also connects me to Richmond Park which is also brimming with ferns (I walk through the park most days with my chocolate cockapoo!) So this ring means so much because it connects me to home, to my love and to nature.
I love channeling nature into my work and I create understated, beautiful organic buttercream wedding cake designs.”
