Silversmithing Workshop - make Silver Earrings
In this beginners jewellery making workshop you will learn to make sterling silver earrings.
You will be able to design your own pair, shaping the silver into a bar, circle, oval, long/short rectangle or hoops (3/4) or whatever shape desired! You will be shown how to shape wire for ear-wires or if you prefer studs you will learn how to solder on a post back. There is scope to add decoration or texture or create a simple surface. There will be inspiration to help you design your own pair and demonstrations with room for creativity and individuality, the complexity dependant on your confidence and ability. It will be productive session though there are usually a few challenging moments along the way! You will learn beginners silversmithing including:
- working with silver
- creating form and shape
- sawing and filing
- hammering and texturing
- where to buy your jewellery making materials and equipment
And you will have a beautiful, unique pair of earrings to take away with you. If you're interested visit my blog (see top of page) for more information and pictures on these workshops, and an attendee wrote this blog about her afternoon here: Click Here to Read
